Kuhns of Greencastle; one brother, Harold Kuhns of Harrisonburg, Va.; one sister, Cora Crunkleton of Chambersburg; 10 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one nice-great-grandson.
He was preceded in demise by two sisters, Naomi Martin and Mary Hummer; three brothers, Ira Kuhns, Paul Kuhns and Adin Kuhns; and one nice-granddaughter. Soon only two remain? Surviving is his spouse and three daughters, Jean Elaine (Kuhns) Rissler, Harrisonburg, VA; Genet Marie (Kuhns) Orebaugh, New Market, VA; Eveyln Mae (Kuhns) Rankin, Middleboro, MA; one son, Philip Laurence Kuhns, Tallahassee, FL; two sisters, Lois Ardell (Kuhns) Ramsayer, Goshen, IN, Miriam Mae (Kuhns) Leichty, Berne, IN; six grandchildren, James Rissler, Atlanta, GA, Grant Rissler, Lancaster, PA, Matthew Rissler, Dubuque, IA, Anthony Kuhns, Stefan Kuhns both of Tallahassee, FL, Jonathan Rankin, Middleboro, MA; and two nice-grandchildren, Andrew Rissler, Peter Rissler, each of Atlanta , GA. Surviving are children, Jean Kuhns Rissler (Ed Rissler); Genet Kuhns Orebaugh (Robert Orebaugh), Philip Kuhns (Faith Eidse) Evelyn Kuhns Rankin (Jess Rankin), 6 grandchildren, 2 nice-grandchildren, and two sisters, Miriam Kuhns Liechty (Robert Liechty), Lois Kuhns Ramseyer (Woodrow Ramseyer). Kuhns, James Winfred, 84, died March 31, 2009 at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community where he was a resident. Kuhns, James Winfred, 84, of Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Virginia died March 31, 2009 at the same place from Idiopathic Pulmonary Interstitial Fibrisis. Kuhns, Clara B. Borntrager, 81, of Goshen, IN died October 31, 2009. She was born June 26, 1928, in Topeka, Kansas, to Ben and Malinda (Miller) Borntrager. Surviving is his son, Samuel H. Kuhns, of Greencastle, PA. Born Sept. 24, 1916, in Denbigh, Va., he was the son of the late Samuel H. and Martha Horst Kuhns. Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. On their approach home, Lorraine claimed that the brakes either stalled or failed a number of times, resulting in close to-disastrous crashes. Please omit flowers.
